Right to Request Time Off for Training consultation

4 September 2013

The TUC want to hear from TSSA Reps and members about their experiences of using the Right To Request Time Off for Training.

The government introduced the Right to Request Time off for Training in 2010.

This right allows individuals to request unpaid leave to attend work-related vocational training, once a year.

In 2011 the government decided not to extend this right to companies with 249 or less employees as had been planned.

Now the TUC is gathering information on the take up and impact of this right in order to contribute to the Government’s review of the scheme.

TSSA is asking all reps to talk to your members and colleagues about any take up of the Right To Train scheme and legislation / policy & procedures in their companies and respond directly to the unionlearn survey here  by 16th September 2013.

The survey should only take ten minutes to complete.
