RSSB Pay Talks 2012- Have Your Say!

Directed by a well-attended TSSA members' meeting on Thursday 8 March, your reps met with management to discuss this yearÂ’s pay claim and RSSB's initial offer. The more members we have, the stronger our voice, so encourage others to join us at www.tssa.org.uk/join

 Our Claim

The pay claim, based on the priorities of members who came to our meeting, was as follows:

  • An increase to basic pay of not less than February RPI (figure to be published 20 March 2012), with a minimum increase for lower paid staff and a cap for the highest earners.
  • An increase to London Allowance to compensate for the increases in cost of living in London above the national level of inflation.
  • Extension of season ticket subsidy towards the full value of season tickets, or free residential travel facilities for all staff.
  • Increase annual leave to 29 days from day one of employment (increased from the current 28 days, equal to the statutory minimum) and flexibility over Xmas period.
  • Reduction in the working week to a maximum of 35 hours and establishment of a working party to investigate and address the extent of a long hours culture within RSSB.

RSSB Response – No Improvement to Any of the Above and Sticking to the Initial Offer

  • A general increase of 3% on basic pay for the financial year 2012-2013.
  • A non-pensionable, non-consolidated one off bonus of £1250 for all staff (or pro rata to length of service over last year and/or hours worked).

We need members to complete and return the attached form to barrowm@tssa.org.uk by 1500 on Friday 23 March. If you vote to reject the offer, state whether you wish to be balloted for industrial action, as we will be unable to improve the offer through negotiation alone.
