South West Trains 2016 Pay Award

11 November 2016

TSSA have had two meetings where your union reminded South West Trains that we were looking for a substantial increase for our members.

South West Trains in turn stated that they were currently in the last of year of the current franchise and would have to receive approval from the Department for Transport to reach agreement. TSSA reminded South West Trains that our members had received below RPI increases in three of the last four years. In the first meeting we had a first offer of a 1.3% and a minimum increase of £250 per annum and then a second of 1.5% and then a third of 1.77%. All those offers were rejected by the TSSA.

At the second meeting we received a final offer from South West Trains, as follows:

· 2.0% Increase in salaries from the first Monday in October 2016.

TSSA considers that this offer has reached the level that is acceptable to our members. However it is our intention to seek the views of our members by way of a referendum.
