Southern 2013 Pay Offer ex Network Rail Employees at Gatwick Airport

30 July 2013

TSSA have now had discussions with Southern in regard to the 2013 pay award for those TUPE transferred from Network Rail and still on the Network Rail terms and conditions.

Southern stated that the growth of business had not matched that predicted in their franchise bid made at the start of the current franchise and that they would be going into Revenue Support in September 2013. Southern stated that this would have to be taken into account when making an offer. TSSA argued strongly that this situation was not of our members’ making.

We have now received a final two and a quarter year offer from Southern as follows:

· 3.5% Increase in salaries and appropriate allowances from the first Sunday in January 2013

· 0.8% Increase in salaries and appropriate allowances from the first Sunday in January 2014

· February RPI or 2.5% whichever is the greater increase in salaries and Regional Allowances from the first Sunday in April 2014.

· With effect from April 2014, changes to their basic pay, appropriate allowances and terms and conditions of employment will be negotiated under the Southern Collective Bargaining arrangements

TSSA considers that this offer is acceptable and believes that a two year deal is a benefit to our members. TSSA and our representatives intend to accept this offer but would welcome your view before we do that. Therefore please contact TSSA at andersoni@tssa.org.uk before the 9th August 2013.
