Model letter to send to your manager regarding setting of TfL P&D objectives:
To [insert name of manager]
I note your email dated [insert date] containing your proposals for my objectives for this performance year (2014/15).
As I have already made you aware, I am a union member participating in lawful industrial action and am therefore not engaging in the P&D process as part of that action.
Note below an extract from the Performance Management information contained on Source:
“Agree clear objectives for the next review period that will help meet organisational and business unit goals (scorecards can be used to demonstrate the impact on the business).”
As I am not participating in the P&D process for reason I have explained, it is impossible for me to agree or discuss these objectives and therefore, I believe the imposition of performance objectives to be contrary to TfL’s own policy.
I would be grateful if you would refrain from making further requests which conflict with the industrial action I am taking. I realise that this action may cause you difficulties, and is not something that my Union or I embark upon lightly.
The industrial action will be called off as soon as TfL negotiates a reasonable settlement to the dispute. I hope that you can use any influence you have to encourage the Leadership Team to engage with my Union Representatives in a meaningful sense.
Regards
