TfL Pay Referendum

After some tough negotiations, your Reps have secured a pay offer from TfL which we believe is worthy of your consideration.

The proposal

Year 1

· A 4.2% increase for 2012 for those who achieve a ‘3’ performance rating. This will be backdated to 1 April 2012 or 1 July 2012 (for those employees who have a July pay review date).

Year 2

· An increase based on RPI for February 2013 subject to a minimum of 2% and a maximum of 5% for those who achieve a ‘3’ performance rating.

Pay ranges

· Pay ranges and thresholds in paybands 1, 2 and 3 and the spine points in payband 1 will be increased by the February RPI figure in both year 1 and year 2.


· The trades unions will engage with TfL on the development and implementation of a new Performance Related Pay (PRP) scheme to be finalised by 1 July 2013 for implementation with effect from 1 April 2014 for the 2014/15 performance year.

Possible extra Year 2 payment

· If a revised PRP scheme is designed and finalised by 1 July 2013 for introduction in April 2014, a further 0.5% will be paid in addition to the RPI figure for February 2013. This will be subject to a minimum of 2% and a maximum of 5%. This will apply to those employees who achieve a ‘3’ performance rating. The additional 0.5% increase will be backdated to April 2013 for those employees with an April review date.

Rail Reimbursement Scheme

· The existing 75% Rail Reimbursement Scheme remains in place for the lifetime of the settlement.


Your Reps believe that the offer meets our minimum aspirations and are therefore recommending acceptance of the offer.

We have asked TfL to make the necessary preparations to apply the salary increase and back pay in the December payroll as the financial work needs to begin this week if the rise is to be applied before Christmas.
