The Listening Company (Tonbridge) Pay Claim 2011

We met with the company on 10th Aug 2011 to discuss this year's pay claim on behalf of our members.

 

We were made aware of the fact that the company has been acquired by Serco and that there will soon be commencing a numbers of measures to merge terms and conditions for TLC more in line with Serco operations. As the change in business ownership is a transfer of employment under the TUPE Employment Legislation (Transfer of Undertaking and Protection in Employment) then existing terms and conditions of employment should be protected.

Due to the above we were informed that (for the third year running) there would be no improvement in pay and conditions for staff. This time round the reason given that this is due to the above acquisition. We find this unfair in a climate of high inflation and decreasing job security for our members.

As the trade union representing staff within TLC Tonbridge we have been assured that we will be involved in any discussions over changes in terms and conditions of employment and fully involved in any employment transfer process.
