Thomas Cook Compensation Information

7 October 2019

We recently told the government and the liquidators that Thomas Cook workers must be paid what they are owed 'in full and without delay'.

Those employees who were dismissed without notice have a legal claim for compensation. We have asked the liquidator not to contest such claims.

We have been told that they have already made interim payments totalling over £18 M, however more worryingly, not every worker has yet applied for it.

Please note that this action is completely separate to the question of the Protective Award.

If you have not yet registered your legal claim for compensation, you must do so as soon as possible. This can be done by making your application on-line at the specially set up Government set up Thomas Cook site. For your ease, I have attached the address which you can copy and paste into your browser. Once there, read the sites information carefully as it has lots of key data on how to apply and what to apply for.

The address can be found here

Once done, scroll down to “How to apply”, the rest I hope will be self-evident.

Finally, it was also revealed this week that the Thomas Cook wellbeing programme for staff will be kept going until the end of the month.

We have acted speedily and responsibly to assist our members at Thomas Cook and we hope that you all retain your membership into your next role in the Travel Industry.
