Translink ballot result

14 November 2011

The TSSA ballot on industrial action closed 14 November 2011. The result of the ballot was as follows:

The TSSA ballot on industrial action closed 14 November 2011.

The result of the ballot was as follows:

In favour of Strike Action 77.2% of valid vote

Against Strike Action 22.8% of valid vote

The resounding ballot result is a clear indication of the concerns members have about the impact of the major changes that are planned for the pension scheme.

On the Result of the ballot, Manuel Cortes, Assistant General Secretary of the TSSA said, “It is good to see TSSA member’s strong determination to defend your pension. You have delivered an overwhelming mandate for action. We can now proudly join millions of other public sector workers in the fight for fair pensions. On the 30th November, I will proudly be in Belfast to join with you on the day of action”

TSSA will be joining with other unions to ensure the day of action on the 30 November is a huge success. Rallies and events are being planned so we can all demonstrate our anger over the proposals to attack your pensions. We will be keeping members informed of the details and plans for the 30 November over the coming weeks.

The TSSA Irish office would like to thank those Reps and Members who worked to achieve a yes vote on the Ballot. The yes vote demonstrates a determined stand by TSSA members not to allow unfair attacks on your pension.
