TSSA fights cuts at Whitechapel Underground Station

15 July 2013

TSSA members are acting to raise public awareness of the closure of Whitechapel ticket office ahead of LU plans to close almost all ticket offices across the Underground.

We handed out leaflets to passengers on their Monday morning commute. The overwhelming majority were very supportive, saying they valued station astff who provide a vital service for passengers.

TSSA Senior Regional Organiser, Luke Chester said,  "Whitechapel is the front line of the attack on our tube services by Boris the Blunderer. The smiling assisin has just announced £220 million cuts to front line tube services. London Underground say that every journey matters. We agree - so why remove essential services such as ticketing and passenger assistance?"
