TSSA Open Forum - QMK

2 August 2019

How will Putting Passengers First affect you and your job? TSSA is holding an open forum in the Auditorium at QMK on Monday 5th August between 12:00 - 13:00 to answer questions and listen to your concerns.

Putting Passengers First (PPF) is the biggest change to the way our railways are operated since the demise of Railtrack.

Network Rail are planning to change the entire operating model and almost every aspect of the business will be reorganised. In effect, Network Rail will become 5 separate Regional businesses supported by a Network Services Directorate and a Route Services Directorate.

Most of the centralised functions, many of which are based at QMK, will be devolved to the new Regions. The impact on employees is potentially huge. The proposals are likely to include changes to roles, accountabilities, location moves, and a radically different governance structure.

Your TSSA workplace representatives will be consulted on all aspects of the reorganisation.

Our job is to make sure that your voice is heard by the business. We work to influence the Company to ensure that their proposals are fit for purpose. We are committed to minimising the impact of change on the people affected; protecting jobs and campaigning for fair treatment for everyone.

Staff based at QMK will be some of those most severely impacted by the Putting Passengers First. As part of TSSA’s commitment to you, we are holding a special lunchtime forum to discuss PPF on Monday 5th August from 12:00 until 13:00 in the Auditorium, QMK.

Your TSSA Representatives will provide a brief overview of the PPF proposal, explain how consultation will take place and give you the opportunity to have a real say in the process.

Everyone is welcome and light refreshments will be provided. The event is supported by Network Rail so, unless there are urgent business priorities, there should be no barrier to you dropping by on the 5th.

We encourage you to take this opportunity to find out more about what PPF will mean for you and your team, how TSSA is working on your behalf, and how you can help ensure that the affected workforce can have real influence on the change process.
