TSSA responds to comments about LU Service Control dispute

18 February 2016

Manuel Cortes, TSSA Leader, responds to comments by London Underground that TSSA's ballot is pointless and unnecessary.

Responding to Steve Griffiths, Chief Operating Officer at London Underground, statement to the media about safety being their top priority and calling TSSA’s ballot for strike action ‘unnecessary’ and ‘a pointless threat’. He told the press that he urged the union to continue talks, so TSSA leader Manuel Cortes said, " Yesterday, I wrote to London Underground seeking urgent talks to resolve the issues affecting our members in Service Control. The company is guilty of breaking agreed procedures and imposing change without negotiation. If they are serious about resolving our concerns, they should reply to my letter to name when and where they are prepared to meet us. As I told them in my letter, we are available to engage in talks to resolve this dispute any time and anywhere."
