TSSA's Northern Irish Learning Project shows success for learners in County Armagh

21 March 2011

TSSA is proud to tell you that Translink Ulsterbus driver Fran Kerns, based at the Newry depot, has recently been selected as the ICT Essential Skills Learner of the Year for County Armagh. TSSA Learning Organiser Mark Wilkinson was informed by Nicola Cook from Southern Regional College of Fran's award

Mark relays the story:

"I received an email from Nicola about Fran being selected as the ICT learner of the year. This is a fantastic achievement on Fran's behalf. There are hundreds of learners within County Armagh alone, so it's also a great achievement for TSSA Union Learning that a learner from a TSSA organised course has won this award.

There is a complex selection process involved in choosing winners but Fran has demonstrated what can be achieved through Union Learning."

Fran will receive his award on Wednesday 23 March at Hillsborough Castle. Further news on this story and on the award ceremony for Bangor Essential Skills ICT learners will follow shortly.
