TSSA says Bus √Čireann services could be back in action for the weekend

5 April 2017

TSSA will be attending talks with Bus √Čireann at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) this morning in the hope that a resolution to resolve the company's difficulties through negotiation can be achieved before the strike that has crippled bus services across the country enters its third week.

"Bus Éireann's services could be running again by tomorrow if management want to engage seriously and constructively with us in protecting jobs and services and reaching a negotiated settlement. We will be attending in good faith and pending the discussions are willing to suspend our strike action. We look forward to hearing what the company has to say and how they intend to proceed."

Today is the thirteenth day of strike action by Bus Éireann workers making it the the longest consecutive day strike in the TSSA's 120 year history.
