TSSA Scotland Divisional Council Weekend School - 12/13 November 2011

The 2011 TSSA Scotland Divisional Council Weekend School will be held in Perth, starting at 10am on Saturday, 12 November, and finishing at lunchtime on Sunday, 13 November. Accommodation and meals will be provided, and travel costs reimbursed.

Overnight accommodation will be provided on Saturday night and also, for those that need it, on Friday night.

There will be a ‘meet and greet session’ for those members arriving Friday evening, starting at eight o’clock.

Sessions at the weekend school will cover:

  • - The STUC’s “There is a Better Way” campaign against public spending cuts.
  • - The McNulty Report and its threats to jobs, pay and health & safety on the railways.
  • - Building links between the TSSA and local communities to defend local services.
  • - Improving levels of membership and involvement in the TSSA by young members.
  • - Strengthening links between branches and workplace & company reps.
  • - The future of the TSSA.

The sessions will be a mixture of plenary sessions and smaller group workshops.

Speakers at the school will include an STUC Assistant Secretary, a speaker from Future TSSA, and one of the TSSA’s elected national officers.
