TSSA stall draws the crowds at Railfest 2012

7 June 2012

TSSA's stall at Railfest 2012 is proving a big hit with the thousands attending one of the biggest railway events in years.

Railfest 2012 is being held at the National Railway Museum at York until this coming Sunday, 10 June. Thousands have visited so far, and many more are expected.

TSSA's stall, festooned with 'Better Rail' campaign posters, has at times had more people visiting it than were visiting the surrounding trade stands! A number of RMT and ASLEF members visited the stall and congratulated TSSA on being there.

The TUC 'Action for Rail' postcards have been going like hot cakes! A number of campaigning groups and rail users groups visited the stall and were supportive of TSSA's 'Better Rail' campaign. Not one person has thought that reducing station staff was a good idea!

TSSA membership forms have been taken, including by some graduates who are joining the rail industry. A party of retired rail workers who had all been members of the union were very supportive and proud to see the TSSA stall at Railfest.

Volunteers are still needed to staff the TSSA stall, even if just for a few hours, especially over the coming weekend - anyone interested please contact Steve Coe at
