TSSA Virgin West Coast members vote for strike action

28 November 2017

TSSA members at Virgin West Coast have overwhelmingly voted to take strike action in a row over fair pay.

Numbers voting YES: 176 (86.7% of valid vote)
Numbers voting NO: 27 (13.3% of valid vote)
66% turnout.

TSSA General Secretary Manuel Cortes said:
“This dispute is less about a pay rise and more about Richard Branson’s staff being treated fairly and being given equal respect. The ballot result shows clearly how deeply our members feel about this.

"The ball is in Branson's court now. He can drop the Scrooge act and treat our members fairly and equitably - or he must face the prospect of strikes at Christmas."
