TSSA votes to keep political campaigning voice

30 September 2014

The TSSA rail union has voted by a decisive majority to maintain its political fund, which funds non-party campaigning on behalf of members, as well as enabling the union's links with Labour.

In a secret ballot, members voted by 89% to 11% to maintain the union's political fund.

"I am delighted that we had such a big majority," said general secretary Manuel Cortes.

"Our members fully recognise that to be effective our union also needs to have a strong political voice."
