TSSA West Midlands TOC Branch Annual General Meeting

7 February 2011

TSSA West Midlands TOC Branch Annual General Meeting, Wednesday 16 February 2011, commencing at 5pm at the Copthorne Hotel, Birmingham

TSSA members in train operating companies (TOCs) face government cuts in public services including public transport. If you are employed by Virgin, you will be subject to a refranchising process during 2011 that could see you transferred to a new employer early in 2012.

There has never been a greater need for a vibrant and active local TSSA branch, providing you with a forum in which to have your say, influence the policies of the union, and become involved in defending TOC members’ interests.

TOC members in the West Midlands are urged to attend the Branch Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 16 February at the Copthorne Hotel, Paradise Circus, Birmingham. The meeting will elect the Branch officers for the year ahead, and also the Branch’s delegates to TSSA Annual Conference in May, where the union’s policies will be decided. The Branch will also consider any affiliations it wishes to make to external bodies such as trades union councils so that your TSSA branch can join with other local trade unionists in fighting the cuts.

TSSA National Organiser Steve Coe and Senior Regional Organiser Jerry Wines will be in attendance to talk about the challenges facing TSSA’s TOC members, and to discuss how you can join in with the union’s campaigning and other activities.

All West Midlands TOC members are asked to make every effort to attend this important meeting. It’s your union – have your say!
