TSSA Wins £240,000 Pay Out For Redundant Staff

10 November 2011

Former English based staff of the bankrupt Cyprus Turkey Airlines have won a £240,000 pay out after a year long legal wrangle.

The money will be divided between 20 former employees who are members of the travel union, the TSSA.

The Cyprus based company went bust last year leaving around 40 of its English based employees jobless.

Tony Wheeler, TSSA travel officer, said: "I want to congratulate our solicitors, Morrish of Leeds, for winning a pay off for our members who were left high and dry with the closure of Cyprus Turkey Airlines.

"It is never easy dealing with overseas companies but in this case our members have rightly been compensated."
