TSSA Calls on Minister to Intervene to Stop Dublin Bus Strikes

8 September 2016

TSSA General Secretary Manuel Cortes urges Irish Transport Minister to meet and stop Dublin bus strike before it starts.

"Dublin's bus passengers are being made to suffer because Shane Ross is behaving more like a muppet than a minister.

"It indeed a doddle to sort out this dispute. He just needs to get round the table and start talking to us. I am more than happy to speak to him - even today - to see if we can settle the strike before it starts.

"Neither passengers nor our members want this dispute but we are grateful to our passengers for the great support they're giving us.

"My phone is on and I'm more than happy to meet Shane - any time, any place, anywhere.

"Let's face it, Shane is going to have to come to the negotiating table at some point so it may as well be sooner rather than later."
