Virgin hiring extra staff to deal with complaints

10 July 2017

Virgin Trains West Coast have announced they are hiring 25 extra staff to handle complaints after admitting they 'hadn't been good enough'.

The announcement came after pressure from independent passenger watchdog Transport Focus highlighted Virgin's 'hard line approach' on ticket sales.

TSSA union leader Manuel Cortes, said:

'It's ridiculous that on a route Branson described as 'a licence to print money' Virgin are treating passengers so badly.

'The only way they are making money is by taking public subsidies. Let's cut out the Brian Souter and Richard Branson and bring the route into public control.'
