VOLKERRAIL: Industrial Action Suspended

We have today been contacted by VolkerRail in respect of the ongoing dispute over 2011 pay. The company have informed us that they are willing to re-open negotiations and wish to meet with us on 4th of November with the view to making us an offer. As a result we have agreed to suspend all industrial action for a period of three weeks.

What happens now?

The industrial action planned to commence at 00:01 on the 2nd of November will be suspended until 00:01 on the 23rd of November. This includes both strike action and action short of strike.

This decision has been taken on the understanding that meaningful discussions will take place with a view to resolving the dispute.

We have made our position quite clear. We are looking for VolkerRail to make an offer that is acceptable to our members.

It is clear that by standing together we have made progress. Whilst we aren’t yet at the point of putting any offers out to members, we have shown what we can achieve with the current number of members, just think what we can achieve with a larger numbers. Please continue to encourage your fellow colleagues to join TSSA. The stronger we are the more the company will listen.
