World Book Day 2011 Competition: Win a Kindle!

20 January 2011

TSSA Learning has launched a competition for all transport and travel industry employees to coincide with World Book Day 2011.

TSSA Learning has launched a competition for all transport and travel industry employees to coincide with World Book Day 2011.

As the enclosed poster explains, we are inviting any TSSA member to submit a 200-word review of a favourite book. They will then be entered into a draw to win an Amazon Kindle.

This is an opportunity to:
- Promote the upcoming World Book Day and help to generate interest in related activities that you are planning in your workplaces
- Raise the profile of TSSA in your workplace and help recruit new members
- Encourage people to speak to TSSA ULRs about their learning and training needs.

You may remember that you received a circular in December about World Book Night. Whilst we hope that you have put yourself forward for that, this is something that we hope will appeal to a broader range of people.

What you should do now:
- Please put up the poster in your workplace, writing on it your name and email address or phone number. You can order more posters from us, or an electronic version, by contacting George Woods]
- Consider other ways to promote the competition, for example on the company intranet or weekly bulletin
- Use the competition as a starting point for planning World Book Day events
- Speak to colleagues about the competition as a way of engaging them in a broader discussion about their learning needs.
- Remember to record any conversations where you advise colleagues and direct them to learning opportunities, and pass them to your TSSA Lead ULR or Learning Organiser as an advice and guidance outcome.

For more information, advice and support about organising around World Book Day 2011 please contact your TSSA Learning Organiser.
