TSSA staff members at Bus Eireann are on picket lines across Ireland this morning as the all-out strike ar Bus Eireann enters its third day.
TSSA General Secretary, Manuel Cortes, has joined members in Dublin this morning as they protest to defend both their livelihoods and lifeline bus services following the company's unilateral imposition of 300 job losses and axing of bus routes.
"From where we are standing this morning, it looks like either Transport Minister Shane Ross is evading his public service obligation to keep Ireland's transport system running. We don't know whether he's gone into hiding or if he's decided to take his own form of solidarity strike action. What is clear is he's not doing his job as Minister for Transport. Unions want to negotiate with the company. He must pull his finger out and make it happen or risk escalating the already solid dispute."
Cortes will be on picket lines in Cork this afternoon.
