Govia Thameslink Railway timetable changes from this weekend will be 'absolute bedlam'

16 May 2018

Govia Thameslink Railway has issued notice of timetable changes that will come into effect at the weekend that include changes to the start and termination of many train routes.

Commenting on this TSSA General Secretary Manuel Cortes said:

“This is extremely chaotic! How can they give passengers just four days’ notice for such a big upheaval? Our members will bear the brunt of this pandemonium when passengers turn up at train stations on Sunday. For example some trains will not go to Kings Cross, but St Pancras instead.

“All this, while the company are boasting that they are increasing train services by 13%, but they have certainly not increased the staff. How is it safe for all these trains to be planned, despatched, kept secure and passengers looked after without extra staff?

“With all this rush, I have my sincere doubts about how well thought through this could be – it’s going to be absolute bedlam!”
