Great Western Railway: Stations Harmonisation

4 October 2018

Your TSSA full time officer along with Stations Divisional council representatives met with the Head of Stations and his management team for a 2-day meeting in Newton Abbot this week to discuss Stations Harmonisation.

For those of you who have had experience of previous harmonisation talks we are not under any illusion that it will be easy to reach a situation that meets our members aspirations as well as being acceptable to GWR.

However, we have a duty to seek pay parity for our members working in Stations and will endeavour to do so.

To enable a position that increases our chance of success it is important that we have representation from all the areas of the stations grades which is why I am worried that we have as yet been unable to find Sales representatives from FGW Link or ex Thames trains stations to represent their colleagues in any meetings.

It is also worrying that none of the Ex Thames stations seem to have a Sales LDC representative from the paperwork that the company have provided.

Therefore, I am asking if there are any TSSA members in S6, S9 or S10 roles in ex Thames stations that they seriously consider stepping forward to be at least co-opted for the purposes of these Harmonisation talks. Please contact Alan Valentine on 07775912829 or email by clicking here as a matter of urgency if you are interested. Or if you want to speak to one of the Stations Divisional Council (SDC) reps to find out what it entails before getting involved then please contact Tony Price at Gloucester Station on 0785334254 or 0774311.

I also want to highlight that we have vacant LDC positions in the following stations or areas of stations and require TSSA members to come forward to fill these positions:

Ultimately any decisions on how we progress harmonisation talks will be put through members direct so please encourage your colleagues to join TSSA so that they have a voice through the rep and any referendums we might carry out in the future non-members can join online at www.tssa.org.uk/join
