South Western Railway - February 2020 Update

11 February 2020

Pay Negotiations Following our last meeting with the SWR Executives, we have now received a final pay offer as follows:

2.6% increase of basic rates of pay and 2.6% increase in London and South East (& associated Regional) Allowances.

Subject to pensionable pay cap of RPI+0.25%. This offer would be back dated to 6th October 2019 and is to run until October 2020.

The company have also committed to meet with us to discuss the use of agency staff and contractors. Please forward your comments on this offer to any of the reps detailed on the left.

This offer represents an improvement to the offer tabled by the company at the last meeting. Under the circumstances South Western Railway is facing, a 12 month pay deal seems the sensible duration.

We will respond on 10th February, so please ensure you discuss this offer with your reps before this date.

Concessionary Travel on Avanti West Coast

We have received a letter from SWR confirming that staff and their partners/dependants who have a valid FirstGroup travel pass with unused boxes can now use these boxes to travel on Avanti West Coast, just like any FirstGroup TOC.

TIS Hardware

Members of your Company Council and your TSSA Organiser attended a meeting with SWR this week to raise concerns about the proposed TIS hardware for rollout.

A number of issues were discussed and we will return to the table in due course. If you have any points you would like included in these discussions, please contact John Tetins.

If you are already a member of the TSSA, please let us know should you be interested in becoming more involved in our union, which is powered by the members. If you are not yet a member, now is a very good time to join!
