TSSA London Underground overtime ban

2 December 2016

TSSA staff working on the Tube will refuse to work overtime on the Tube from next Thursday (Dec 8) with London Underground (LU) management over inadequate staff numbers and the sharp decline in staff safety since the introduction of new working practices earlier this year.

Talks to resolve TSSA concerns will resume at ACAS on Tuesday but TSSA members are pressing for their vote for acton short of industrial action to be implemented in the meantime.

Said TSSA Organising Director Lorraine Ward:

"I have served LU notice of out intention to take industrial action short of a strike and our members have been instructed not to work any overtime or additional hours or any extended shifts effective from 00:01 on 8 December 2016.

"We will not be declaring any dates for strike action for the time being, although we have reserved our right to do so in line with our ballot result which we will review in light of the progress of ACAS talks next week."
