Al Stoten

Al Stoten

Our executive committee is responsible for managing and supervising the affairs of the association, and for determining and directing policy in between annual conferences.

The executive committee meets ten times a year at our head office, Walkden House.

Executive committee members are elected by secret ballot of the members in their divisional council area, normally for a three-year term of office.

Al Stoten represents London South East Divisional Council.

Al has worked on the railway since 2006, starting with Southern as a train dispatcher before moving to Southeastern, first as a station supervisor before moving in to the ticket office.

As an industrial relations rep, Al has a formidable reputation in getting the best results for his members at a local level. A trait echoed company wide in his other role as company council rep.

Having successfully run TSSA’s young members section, FutureTSSA, for six years, Al handed over control early in 2019 to the next generation of young members.

He currently sits on the union’s investments committee, code of governance committee, joint staff council, and has recently started chairing the campaigns committee.

In his free time Al can normally be found on a dusty highway in far flung corner of the

country/continent/world riding his motorcycle.
