Our democracy

TSSA is a democratic union. Our Executive Committee is the lay leadership of the TSSA and represents the geographical and industrial diversity and experience of our membership, from Ireland and every nation and the regions of Britain. From the President and Treasurer to each of the regional seats, they are elected to represent groups of TSSA members.

TSSA's General Secretary is a full time paid official elected by the whole membership of the union. They lead the union in every respect, speaking to industry leaders, government ministers, officials, media, and sister organisations to further the needs of TSSA members.

We are guided by our mission, vision and values which put our members' interests, alongside equality, fairness and welfare at the heart of what we do.

Member advice from our Helpdesk

If you are a TSSA member and are looking for advice or assistance in connection with your employment or membership, you can contact our Members’ Helpdesk.

We can advise on a range of workplace issues including; discipline and grievance hearing, maternity rights and redundancy.

Helpdesk opening hours: 09:00 - 17:00 Monday - Thursday | 09:00 - 16:00 Friday

Please note: we cannot undertake to provide advice to non-members, to members of other unions, or to members on behalf of their partners/friends. If you are not yet a member, please join TSSA online.
