What is FutureTSSA?
FutureTSSA is a self-organised group within the TSSA structures, who's primary aim is to represent Young Members, which TSSA defines as being aged 35 or under.

Anyone who meets that criteria, qualifies to be involved as an activist within FutureTSSA. FutureTSSA aims to encourage activism within young members, but also educate, drive engagement, and highlight issues that affect young people in the workplace.

What happens at the AGM?
Officers will be elected for the upcoming year, who will then be responsible for setting the direction of our group.

What are the officer positions?

As it stands, we currently have the current 5 positions listed below, each with a brief description of what it entails:

  • Chair - The chair is responsible for chairing all FutureTSSA Meetings, as well as FutureTSSA Officer meetings, as well as leading the direction and strategy of our SOG. They are responsible for ensuring that Future is operating efficiently and in-line with our constitution.
  • Vice-Chair/Correspondence Secretary - This position was historically two, but were merged together. The Vice-Chair aspect is simply there for chairing any meetings in absence of the Chair. The correspondence secretary is responsible for dealing with communications to FutureTSSA, as well as arranging meeting notices to be sent out, compiling the agenda, and taking minutes from the meetings. They play an active role in assisting the Chair in the day-to-day running of the SOG.
  • Financial Secretary (Treasurer) - This position is responsible for ensuring that all expenditure is accounted for, and recorded in a financial return. They also hold responsibility by being the main signatory on the Bank Account, and proposing any payments to be made. They report back to FutureTSSA meetings with our financial position.
  • Campaigns Secretary - The campaigns secretary is responsible for the planning and running of any campaigns affecting our members, as well as co-ordinating FutureTSSA events, such as training events, mini-conference, and fringe events. They will lead with writing and proposing to the TSSA Executive Committee on these events to gain funding.
  • Social Media Secretary - This position is responsible for maintaining the FutureTSSA Social Media Channels, which include, but is not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky, TikTok & X. They will ensure regular posting of content, as well as ensuring the execution of a social media plan for important events like Young Workers Month.
