Amey Infrastructure Wales 2021 pay offer

TSSA members at Amey Infrastructure Wales are invited to vote in our online pay referendum after management offered a “best and final offer” of 1.5% on salary backdated to 1 January 2021 with the “commitment to constructively discuss flexible working and multiskilling within the IM contract.”

Management presented their offer to TSSA at a meeting on 27 April 2021 and we believe that this is the best that we can achieve in the circumstances. We tried hard to secure an above RPI deal however our ability to negotiate has been constrained by the pandemic and economic developments in the railway industry. We are encouraged that AIW has bucked the trend of other railway employers and has not proposed any element of productivity in this year’s pay offer.

While our relationship with the company is still in its infancy, we now have a series of meetings in the calendar, and we continue to engage with them on key issues. We are also hopeful that we will secure a collective bargaining agreement for all of the AIW directly employed staff in the near future.

In the meantime, we are looking for enthusiastic and passionate members to come forward as TSSA representatives. You will get full TSSA support and training as well as paid release to undertake your trade union duties. Please contact Natalie Feeley feeleyn@tssa.org.uk for more information.

Our referendum survey asks members to decide whether to accept or reject the offer. If you vote to reject, you will be asked to indicate what increase you would find acceptable and what you would be prepared to do to force AIW to make an improved offer so that we can plan our strategy.
