TSSA Industrial Action in Avanti December 2022

Following the recent breakdown in negotiations with the Rail Delivery Group, TSSA have notified Avanti West Coast of industrial action in the period before Christmas. 

Strike Action

Members are instructed not to commence work on any shift starting between:

From: 00:01hrs on Tuesday 13th December 2022

Until:  23:59hrs on Wednesday 14th December 2022

Strike Action will therefore take place for the whole of the shifts commencing during this period. Accordingly, strike action will also take place on Thursday 15th December 2022 in respect of any members expected to commence shifts before 23:59 on Wednesday 14th December 2022 whose shifts run into Thursday 15th December 2022.

Additionally, members will be instructed not to commence work on any shift starting between:

From: 00:01hrs on Friday 16th December 2022

Until:  23:59hrs on Saturday 17th December 2022

Strike Action will therefore take place for the whole of the shifts commencing during this period. Accordingly, strike action will also take place on Sunday 18th December 2022 in respect of any members expected to commence shifts before 23:59 on Saturday 17th December 2022 whose shifts run into Sunday 18th December 2022.

Action Short of a Strike

The action short of a strike action will be continuous and will take place on the intended dates set out below:

From: 00:01hrs on Sunday 18th December 2022

Until: 23:59hrs on Wednesday 28th December 2022

The types of industrial action short of a strike that will be taken are:

• Overtime ban
• Refusal to work rest days
• Refusal to work un-rostered Sundays
