TSSA General Secretary Maryam Eslamdoust said, “ We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident at Belfast Way, Cairnryan yesterday, where a port worker lost his life. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones.

“This incident highlights the importance of regularly reviewing health and safety policies and procedures so that they are fit for purpose. We must now see an urgent review of the health and safety procedures at Loch Ryan Port to ensure that no such tragedy happens again.”
