Storm Amy Disruption – TSSA statement

TSSA rail union has paid tribute to its members working on the rail network during and after Strom Amy last weekend.
There was significant disruption caused by the high winds, with many trains cancelled across much of Britain and Ireland. A major clear up operation is now taking place.
Commenting, TSSA General Secretary, Maryam Eslamdoust said: “As ever our TSSA members were on the front line of Storm Amy, making sure the rail network was safe and able to operate where possible.
“With so many fallen trees across the network there will be a significant operation to clear routes and undertake repairs. So many of our members in Network Rail, as well as those dealing directly with passengers in the wake of the storm, will be doing all they can to get rail routes back to normal.
“We pay tribute to the efforts of all involved – as ever their dedication shines through.”
