TRU Customer Delivery Collective Bargaining agreement with TSSA

On the 20th of May, Alan Valentine, TSSA Organiser with lead responsibility for TransPennine Express (TPE), met with representatives of TPE to celebrate the newly agreed TRU Customer Delivery (TCD) Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The newly Elected TSSA Company Council Representatives, Anthony Moynihan and Thomas Buckley, were also in attendance along with Senior Possession Delivery Manager Kirsty Shepherd,  Possession Deliver Manager Sam Gillespie and Customer Delivery Manager Danny Simpson.

Chris Nutton, Major Projects and TRU Director at TransPennine Express, said: “TRU customer response colleagues play an important role in building relationships with customers and communities across the network.

“Through this agreement with TSSA we will improve the structure of our dialogue to improve working practices and processes – taking on feedback from the team. Staff representation and a proactive approach between colleagues and leadership teams is associated with high performance and strong employee engagement.

“We have opportunity through this agreement to build on relationships and ensure we continue to make TPE a great place to work.”

Alan Valentine TSSA Organiser welcomed the agreement saying: “TSSA members are pleased that after many months of hard work we have been able to agree to a bargaining agreement that should work for our members and the company.

“It will ensure that Customer Delivery Managers and Senior Customer Delivery managers can now elect their own representatives to negotiate on their behalf and raise issues on behalf of TSSA members in those roles.

“This is now the third group of management graded colleagues in TPE who have won the right to be collectively bargained by demonstrating the majority of their group are TSSA members. It’s my hope that other Groups of managers will see the benefit of doing this particularly in advance of the changes that face the industry with the introduction of GBR, the consequences of which are still not fully known.
