TSSA comment on arson attack on French rail networks ahead of Olympics

TSSA today condemned the arson attacks on French rail networks which have caused travel chaos on the day of the Olympics Opening Ceremony.

France’s rail networks were hit overnight by what has been described as a “co-ordinated” series of fires affecting the whole rail network. Repairs are expected to take several days.

TSSA General Secretary, Maryam Eslamdoust, said, “Last night’s arson attacks are deeply disturbing. My thoughts are with everyone today whose journey has been delayed and disrupted.

“Railways are supposed to be safe, convenient, and efficient. TSSA condemns unequivocally these co-ordinated, malicious and dangerous attacks."
