TSSA Comment on Stand up to Racism demonstration

Stand up to Racism are marking UN International Migrants' Day with a celebration of unity over division outside the Home Office on Marsham Street, London. TSSA encourages members in the London area to join us in saying no to hate. 

The event starts at 530pm on Monday 18 December 2023. Attendees are invited to bring donations of coats and jackets for Care 4 Calais.

TSSA General Secretary, Maryam Eslamdoust, said, "TSSA members are in every community, in every part of the UK and Ireland. Our members pride themselves on delivering safe passage, day in and day out, by rail, ferry and bus, to those seeking our service. It’s time the Home Office showed the same pride, leadership and integrity as our members and delivered safe, legal and accessible routes to the UK. 

"Too many innocent lives are lost fleeing war, oppression, and discrimination, and right now too many refugees and migrants are arriving in Calais with little or no clothing. That's why we are calling on everyone to show up and support this demonstration, and to donate coats and jackets to Care 4 Calais."
