TSSA pays tribute to John Prescott

Transport and travel union TSSA has paid tribute to Labour’s former Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Prescott, who has died at the age of 86.

TSSA General Secretary, Maryam Eslamdoust, said: “John Prescott was a giant of the labour movement and our union is deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

“Throughout his life John was an authentic trade unionist and a talented and fearless advocate for millions of working class people. Rising to the top of the Labour Party he was years ahead of his time on vital issues including the climate crisis.

“Our thoughts are with his family and many friends today.”
