TSSA endorses Andy Burnham  

Transport and travel union TSSA is endorsing and nominating Andy Burnham as the candidate best placed to lead the Labour Party into the future. 

TSSA - a Labour affiliated union - has been clear in calling for a change in direction and leadership within Labour. The union believes Andy Burnham has the experience, values and vision needed to deliver that change. 

At a time when the Labour Party must reconnect with working people and rebuild trust, Andy has shown a willingness to challenge the approach of the outgoing Prime Minister and move beyond the policies and political direction of the past. 

Andy Burnham offers the leadership required to put Labour back in touch with its core principles: standing up for workers, strengthening public services and delivering real change for communities across the country. 

Commenting, TSSA General Secretary, Maryam Eslamdoust said: “Andy Burnham has shown he understands the challenges facing working people and their communities. His successful campaign in Makerfield proved that a positive message of hope can defeat the divisive politics of Reform. 

“We believe Andy can unite the party and the country around real change – tackling the cost-of-living crisis, strengthening the New Deal for working people and investing in public services, including our publicly owned railway.”
