The government were quick to assist night industries, pub, clubs, retail, and they did so with hundreds of millions of pounds of covid cash… they have not done that for our travel trade members... We, as a trade union need to support all our members affected by these cuts.

The Boilermakers union is slightly older than TSSA, we were formed in 1880, but we were both born out of the rail industry. As freight and passenger rail has changed, we’ve both endured challenges and risen to greet new opportunities, diversifying our work and the workers we represent.

I want to pay tribute to the Belarusian rail workers my god are they brave. They sabotaged their own railway to stop the Russian invasion. That’s a terrible, incredible act of bravery
