DB Cargo – 2021 Pay Award

Your staff reps submitted pay claims on behalf of all our members covered by collective bargaining, TS, RTS and Ground staff. Following several meetings between your staff reps and the Company, a final offer was made to all members covered in these grades.

As most of you will be aware, the rail industry (TOCs and Network Rail) is facing huge changes and challenges, and as the DfT hold the purse strings for those companies, there will be no pay award again this year for them.

So, given the times we are in and the pressures the whole industry are feeling, we believe we have secured you the best possible deal on pay.

The offer is:

A two-year deal covering 2021 and 2022.

Year one (1st July 2021 – 30th June 2022) 2.5% increase to basic salaries and all allowances

Year two- (1st July 2022 – 30th June 2023) 2% increase to basic salaries and all allowances

This is a multi-year deal with no strings attached, a simple, straight forward pay offer. This gives both you and the DB Cargo financial guarantees for two-years. Obviously, we were disappointed that no other parts of your claim were upheld like a reduction to the working week or enhancements to overtime etc, but they themselves would come at a cost and we believed at this time our members would benefit from the increase to their pay.

We secured a guarantee that should another grade group secure a higher % pay, then that will be automatically applied to you. However, DB Cargo have committed that they will not be making any other offers to any other grade group.

Given this is DB Cargo’s best and final offer, we have now accepted this on your behalf.
