When: 5-6pm Thursday 1 December
Where: Online. Sign up on the link above

As with the last reps meeting, we’ll be seeking input from each company, and you’ll hear direct from a range of TSSA negotiators.

Talks
Our TSSA negotiating teams are in the fourth week of intensive talks with both Network Rail and the Rail Delivery Group, continuing to scrutinise and push for the best deal possible for members.

Last Thursday (24 November), we met the Transport Secretary, Mark Harper, along with Rail Minister Huw Merriman, and pressed them hard on the role that government has in the dispute. Harper says he’s not blocking anything, but we’re still waiting for written proof of the mandate that Network Rail and the TOCs have and we’ve written to Harper since our meeting on this point. We won’t let up on government’s role here.

We’re using every lever available to secure the best offer possible through negotiation and ensure that it’s put into writing for you and our members to see for yourselves.

Action and re-ballots
While we’re still absolutely committed to securing a negotiated settlement, we’re not sitting back. We’ve issued notices to re-ballot in Network Rail and seven train operators, with more to follow in the coming days. We won’t let up on that industrial muscle that you and our members delivered through hard-won yes votes for strike action and action short of strike.

We’re also prepared to take industrial action in the coming weeks. TSSA – through our negotiating teams, political engagement, media, campaigns, re-ballots and industrial action – is using every tool and opportunity available to us to get the best for our members.

Join us on Thursday to hear the very latest from talks and input on the next steps.

As ever, a huge thank you to all of our TSSA reps for the incredible job you do. There’s a lot going on – not least the upcoming re-ballots in so many companies – and we thank you again for the work you’re doing to help deliver yes votes again this second time around.

Hope to see you on Thursday!
