We’ve all had enough - everything’s going up but our wages! Join us on Saturday 18 June to tell the government We Demand Better!
RPI inflation stands at 11.1%, whilst figures released this week show that prices for some cheaper food items have gone up by as much as 50%.
Whether you work on our railways, our buses, our ferries or in our travel industry, we’re all feeling the effects of rising fuel prices. It’s costing us more to eat, more to heat our homes and more to drive to start our early shifts.
Last week the Chancellor promised £400 to all households – especially nice for second-home owners like Rishi Sunak who’ll benefit from the extra cash for every house! – but with energy prices expected to rise by another £800 from October, it just won’t go far enough.
That’s why we hope you’ll join us and your fellow trade union members at the TUC’s march and rally in London on Saturday 18th June to tell the government that we demand better.
We’ll be meeting at 10:30 at Portland Place, with the march to Parliament Square beginning at 12. After the march there will be a rally in Parliament Square, starting at 1pm. It should be a great day. Come and add your voice to tell the government “Enough is enough”.
More information, travel details – including coaches from across the country – are available from the TUC website.
We really hope you can make it!
