TSSA Congratulates Anas Sarwar on election as Scottish Labour Leader

TSSA today congratulated Anas Sarwar on winning the Scottish Labour Leadership election.

TSSA General Secretary Manuel Cortes said: 

"Anas is right when he says that we cannot go back to society as it was before – insecure work, an underfunded health service – after the pandemic. What we need now is a strong united Labour party that will hold the SNP government to account and build for the future.

"I look forward to working with Anas towards the elections in May for Holyrood and beyond.

"I’m now calling on everyone in Scottish Labour to set aside the factional fights that have so damaged our party in recent years and focus our efforts on building the best possible opposition to the SNP government and the Tories in Westminster."
