TSSA congratulates Thirza White on becoming CPSU General Secretary

British and Irish travel and transport union TSSA has congratulated former TSSA employee Thirza White on her election as General Secretary of the Tasmanian public services union, CPSU.

Thirza worked as an organiser for TSSA in the late 2000s, one of many trade union roles she has held in her career. She was elected unopposed to the position of General Secretary after elections last month.

Manuel Cortes, TSSA General Secretary, said: “We send congratulations from everyone at our TSSA union to our former colleague Thirza White on her election as General Secretary of the CPSU.

“Thirza worked as an Organiser with us here and was clearly a very committed and talented trade union official. We have no doubt she will be an excellent leader for the CPSU and its members.

“Our congratulations, best wishes and solidarity to Thirza White and the CPSU.”
