I am 100% behind our union. It isn't just about pay, it's a fight for my rights of contract and job. Regarding terms and conditions, I don't want them smashed away. We don't want to lose our jobs.

On Saturday 20 August 2022, TSSA members took to picket lines across the country for the second time in a week. Members from Avanti West Coast, c2c, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, Great Western Railway, LNER and Southeastern were involved.
From Glasgow to York, Doncaster, Derby, Leicester, Crewe, Liverpool, Bromley, Oxford and London Euston, Puddle Dock, Kings Cross and so much more, TSSA members took to picket lines standing up for jobs, pay and conditions on our railways. Members of the public stopped to give support and solidarity to striking workers - for many TSSA members the first time they have taken strike action in their railway careers.
Rail workers are NOT overpaid. We’re asking for a fair wage and job security for skilled jobs across our railways. It’s our railway and it’s our futures we’re fighting for.

This dispute isn’t just about pay. I'm standing up for our T&Cs. I’ve gone on strike because I feel strongly about protecting our jobs and jobs for future generations. I’m also concerned about safety.
I'm just fighting for my conditions & pay. The cost of living crisis is affecting so many people, I want to protect my T&Cs. It's my first time on a picket, but I feel it's justified, for us & others.
After waiting 3 years, we deserve a good pay rise. We make a massive effort to meet customers' needs, give the best rail fare and assistance required. I don't want to be treated just like a number.
In 2-3 years the minimum wage will have caught up to us. We deal with everyone's safety, deal with cash, have that responsibility. Everyone deserves a decent wage.
