GWR Revenue Protection Peer Trainer rate of pay – Results of Ballot

2 A5 envelopes fanned out one on top of the other. Text on the envelopes read Ballot Paper - Open and return immediately. do not Delay. See enclosed instructions.

I’m writing out to all Our TSSA members in Revenue Protection to make them aware of the outcome of our recent ballot of members within Revenue Protection who carry out peer trainer duties. To be clear only those who are designated Peer trainers have received the requisite training to take new colleagues or apprentices out with them and quite rightly they are fighting to get parity of pay with those station colleagues who carry out the same duties but who received a 20% payment for carrying out those duties compared to the 15% that they receive.

The ballot closed today and I am pleased to announce that TSSA members unanimously voted to take part in Action Short of Strike.

The results are as follows:

Number of people entitled to take part in the ballot:14
Number of ballot papers returned:10
Number of papers found to be spoiled or invalid:  0
Thus, total number of valid papers to be counted:10

Numbers voting YES 10                     (100% of valid vote)

Numbers voting NO   0                       (0% of valid vote)

                                                                                          ___________

                                                          TOTAL 10

                                                          ________________________(100% of valid vote)

I want to thank all of those members who took part in the ballot as this is an amazing success.

We will of course inform the company of this outcome and liase with your representatives and our sister union about what action we might take following this result, the law requires us to give notice to the employer of any planned action so when we are ready to announce this we will communicate to you further. Thank you again for your participation and I hope that we can use this result to resolve this dispute.

If you go through a process in the coming weeks and months to become a peer trainer and receive the requisite training, then please let your TSSA representatives know so that we can update our records.

Also, if you are aware of Revenue protection colleagues who are not in a union then please encourage them to join TSSA on line today www.tssa.org.uk/join
