Members in Greater Anglia vote YES to industrial action
Members in Greater Anglia have voted YES to action short of a strike. Although a majority of those voting also supported strike action, the total was below the threshold required by the anti-trade union laws. The law requires at least 40% of those balloted to support action, and this result leaves us just short of the threshold. However, the overwhelming support for action short of a strike will send a strong message to the company that we need to make progress on our demands over pay, job security and terms and conditions.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in this important ballot. This is another successful industrial action ballot among TSSA members in the current industry-wide dispute over pay, job security and terms and conditions. Your TSSA colleagues in other train operators and Network Rail have also been balloted for both strike action and action short of strike with all of them returning positive results for industrial action.
We are liaising closely with our sister rail unions and are engaging with your reps about next steps and action. We have not served notice for action dates yet, but rest assured we will keep you updated on all developments. Please speak to your TSSA reps for more information and thank you again for taking part in this important ballot.
